Soldier Crabs

I choose to research about a crab called soldier crabs. They live in a lagoon type of environment. They are always in a big swarms just like girls when they go to the bathroom. Soldier and leader crabs which there positions. They enjoy eating birds. Researchers were trying to learn about them so they made tunnels for the crabs to go through. When the crabs go in the tunnels they go. When the crabs are in the tunnels they start to make a gate. They entered the tunnels in swarms. After they figure out that they can make a gate they try to see what they could do different next time.

These crabs could be researched and eventually  be used for some kind of gate. No I do not related to it but I thought it was very interesting. They future could be change because they could start using them to protect things. They are using technology on these crabs to figure out how they do that. This discovery could make like guards for expensive thing. They would protect them.

Magnetic Fields from a Dwarf Star

In this article I figured out that dwarf stars have a magnetic bond. When a star combined with hydrogen it will die. While studying bonds at a college they figured that there is a third bond. The two normal bonds are a covalent bond and a ionic bond. They discovered the bond on accident when studying the other two. The bond involves a magnetic field. It is 10,000 times stronger than anything on earth that has a magnetic field. They used math to figure out the magnetic force. There is no way on earth to create the bond. This bond could help the whole world with technology.

This magnetic bond could change the way we use computers today. It would make computer process faster. When you are using wifi with a bunch of people on it. It could make the iPads and computers process faster. So we would not be waiting as long for things to load. I can see them figuring out how to use the magnetic field and it would make things go faster.

Figuring out the newest and heaviest element

There were people all in a race to create the heaviest element on the periodic table. People from all over the world were trying to find the heaviest element. The element that weighs the most right now is ununoctium. It is element 118 on the periodic table and the atomic weight is 294. The bigger the element you are trying to create the harder it is. Each of the teams were given berkelium and it only last 302 days. It could take several years to make the element. Many of the scientist are having a hard time making the atom. Once they get the atom they have to detect the radio activity of the atom. It could take several years to make the element. They have to use a lot of technology to figure out the element. They are still working to try to figure out the next element on the periodic table.

This is pretty big because we could have a whole new element that could change the way people live. In a few years will have the biggest element on the periodic table. When they figure out the element they will have something new for people for everyday life. This could change they way we live.

Seeing Through Glass

There are many different types of glass some are clear others are colored. With glass the light goes through it and there are different wavelengths with the light so that will factor in to how clear the glass will be. Does color depend on wavelength? The answer is yes color does depend on wavelength. When you have visible light hitting the glass it will go through it. I wonder then how come you can't see through wood? Well the reason is because wood takes in the light or absorbs it. A lot of that factors that play in with seeing glass are ultraviolet, inferred, or heat.Does all glass absorb visible light? Actually the answer in no clear glass does not absorb visible light.

There are many different types of glass some are clear others are colored. Does the color spectrum play in at all? Yes it does glasses color really plays in with the color spectrum. With out the color spectrum the glass would not take on a color. Copper in also involved in this. Copper is on the red end of the spectrum. Does visible wavelength involve with color glass? The answer is yes visible wavelength goes through glass. There are all different levels of energy when talking about glass. I hoped you learned that glass plays in with solids.
